Fitness Class: A MATTER OF BALANCE - Fall 2025
Corewell Health:
Many older adults experience concerns about falling and restrict their activities.  
A MATTER OF BALANCE is an award-winning program designed to manage falls and increase activity levels.

You will learn to:
~ View falls as controllable
~ Set goals for increasing activity
~ Make changes to reduce fall risks at home
~ Exercise to increase strength and balance

Who should attend?
~ Anyone concerned about falls
~ Anyone interested in improving balance, flexibility, and strength
~ Anyone who has fallen in the past
~ Anyone who has restricted activities because of falling concerns


Dates:       Thursdays, September 25 - November 13
Time:         9:30 - 11:30am
Location:   Neighborhood Club Board Room, Second Floor
Cost:         Free to ALL participants
Registration is required and opens:   August 1, 2025

Participants are expected to attend at least 6 - 8 sessions of this 8 week program.
Program is one 2-hour class per week for 8 weeks
Max. 15, Min. of 5 participants.

Fitness Class: Tai Chi, Fall 2025
Tai Chi for Health with Vernice is a gentle exercise program combining slow movements, deep breathing, and mindfulness to improve balance flexibility, and overall well-being.  Suitable for all fitness levels, it promotes relaxation, reduces stress, and enhances physical and mental health.

For Members Only!
Join Barbara for a self-care workshop that incorporates various wellness modalities designed to reduce pain, relieve stress, and activate your body's energy pathways, promoting a more vibrant mind, body, and spirit.

Fitness Class: Understanding Hormone Therapy with Dr. Sean Cassleman
Join us for an insightful discussion on hormone therapy with Dr. Sean Cassleman. This talk will cover menopausal hormone therapy in women and testosterone therapy in men and women. Dr. Cassleman will explain how these therapies can help address hormone imbalances, manage symptoms, and improve overall well-being.

Fitness: Exercise for Osteoporosis
Yoga poses to help reverse osteoporosis and reduce its progression.  A workshop designed to discuss and explain various asanas or postures, and counter indications for health issues you may have.  Consistent past yoga practice is an asset to this workshop, including chair yoga practice.  Standing ability, holding on to the chair as needed, is acceptable.

Fitness: Sound Bowl Healing Class
Crystal singing bowls promote deep healing through vibrational frequencies that resonate within the body.  Made from pure quartz crystal, these bowls penetrate to the cellular level, supporting stress relief, focus, improved sleep and emotional release.  They also help regulate blood pressure, heart rate, and energy flow across the body's chakras - its natural healing centers.

Membership is required for Normatec compression sleeves.  Purchased packages may be used ONLY by the purchasing member.  Individual packages may not be shared.  Payment & registration transactions are handled at the front desk.

Our compression boots can reduce muscle soreness, inflammation, and fatigue by improving circulation and lymphatic drainage, thereby accelerating recovery.
