Field Hockey Camp: Girls Grades 1 - 8

Grades 1 - 8 Join your 1st - 8th grade friends at Neighborhood Club's summer youth field hockey camp! This is a beginner to intermediate level camp for players looking to grow their field hockey skills through skill repetition with a focus on mastering the fundamentals. Each session will also include body mechanics, agility games, team competitions and small sided scrimmages.

Field Hockey League Girls Grades 6 - 8 - Fall 2025
This program is for girls in Grades 6-8. This is a recreational based Field Hockey League playing against other recreation departments and middle school programs in various cities around Metro Detroit. Games will take place after school at various locations, as far as Novi. Players will need their own transportation. There will be six weekday games and two Saturday tournaments on Sept 20 and Oct 18. Practices will be one - two days per week on weekdays.

The offensive team plays for a first down at midfield and a touchdown in the end zone. Defensive players can cover receivers, rush the passer and grab flags from the offensive players' belts to make the "tackle". Special rules designed to make the 1st and 2nd grade flag football program a fun and enjoyable experience for all.

High School Basketball, Boys Grade 9 - 10 and 11 - 12 Winter 2025
Two leagues will be formed. Players form and manage their own team. Each team must have at least one representative to act as a player coach and one representative to serve as a parent manager. The Neighborhood Club will assign team names at time of registration.
Team registration packets will be available at the Neighborhood Club beginning October 1. You can also register online. If you register online, you can claim your team name by coming into the Neighborhood Club and submitting your team roster, concussion forms, and waiver forms. Your name cannot be claimed until the paperwork is submitted, no exceptions.

The game is played with a soft rubber ball and a stick with an aluminum shaft and flexible head. The focus is on teaching basic skills, getting comfortable with the stick and moving up and down the field to score a goal. All equipment is provided except mouthpiece.

Tennis - Ages 4 - 17 Neighborhood Club Kids' Tennis Competition - Summer
Fun, friendly, low-pressure, community based competition. Level-based, non-elimination with a 3 match minimum guarantee. Kids will spend most of their time on-court playing. Each division will last between 1.5 and 2.5 hours. Doubles competition - sign up with a partner or we can match you up with one.

Entry Level (4-7 years old): Red balls. Any child who can serve underhand with some reliability is welcome in this event. Simplified serving and scoring will be used in this group. Court monitors will help them keep score. If you can count to 7, you can keep score in this. Suggested ages 4 - 7. Max 16 players.
Beginner Level (7-13 years old): Orange balls. Participants in this group can rally an easy ball reliably, but cannot hit topspin reliably nor use a continental grip. Simplified serving and scoring will be used in this group. If you can drop feed an orange ball and count to 7, you can play and keep score in this division. Suggested ages 7 - 13. Max 16 players.
Intermediate Level (9-17 years old): Yellow balls. Participants in this group are able to hit topspin reliably and are beginning to develop continental grip skills. Traditional no-ad scoring and serving will be used in this group. Players must be able to serve and keep score on their own. They should be USTA 3.0 equivalent or below. Suggested ages 9 - 17. Max 16 players.

Tennis - Ages 4 - 17 Spring - Summer 2025
Ages 4 - 6 years - Fun, laughter and developing athletic skills are the name of the game for this age group. They are learning basic hand-eye coordination, agility, balance and the rudiments of tennis technique. We are building better athletes at this stage and using fun games to keep them engaged. We also work on basic social skills, playing with others, taking turns, and keeping score. Maximum of 14 participants per class.

Volleyball, Youth, Grades 3 - 4 and 5 - 6 - Fall 2025
Two leagues will be formed. One will consist of grades 3-4 and the other grades 5-6. Teams will typically have a practice and a game per week. Depending on the number of teams in the league and gym availability, a second game may be played during select weeks. Games and practices will be held on weekday evenings and will last one hour. Practices and games will take place on a combination of Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Depending on the number of teams in the league and gym availability there may be practices or games on Fridays.
This league is coached by parent volunteers. Don't forget to register to help coach when registering your child during the online process!
